Clara Shawl

This is a sideways knitted shawl, with a lace border knitted as you go, on a stocking stitch main section. The Clara shawl can be knitted in either laceweight or 4ply.

Although gauge is not essential for the shawl, the 4ply knitted with 4.5mm needle gave size 72in wide & 25in deep, the laceweight shawl knitted in 4mm needle gave size 100in x 34in, the size of your needles will allow you to adjust the drape that you wish.

Materials
1 skein of 4ply, 400m per 100g or 1 skein laceweight 800m per 100g . Only 1 skein is required for each size.
Size 3.5-4mm (US4-6) needles for laceweight shawl Size 4.5-5mm (US7-8) needles for 4ply (a larger needle size will produce a drapier fabric)
Stitch marker Tapestry needle.
